I had a craving for dumplings, but less so a craving for the soup or stew that usually accompanies it. Seriously, when does it start not being in the 90+ degree range around here? Its September, I want fall to arrive! Any way, this dumpling recipe is a family recipe that goes perfect with beef stew!
RECIPE: Dumplings
Makes 2 Servings
SUPPLIES NEEDED:
Bowl
Pot with lid
Fork
INGREDIENTS:
1-2 Cups Flour
1 Egg
1/4 Cup Water
Chicken Broth
Parsley
DIRECTIONS:
1) In a bowl, mix together egg, water, and flour with a fork until a thick batter is formed. Add parsley or any preferred spices.
2) Bring chicken broth or salted water to a bowl.
3) Drop dough into boiling broth/salt water and cover. Let cook for about 3-5 minutes depending on size.
Be sure to save these warm and with something else. We decided to do spiced green beans, but you can also do dumplings as a side for a meat dish.
